Artist Kerstin Jakobsson

Kerstin Jakobsson grew up on a farm abundant in textile traditions, which gave her a direct connection to Swedish folk art and its pagan history. This creative background, rich in female expressions through textile, has been very important to her. She continues to use old textile techniques, reshaping them into new forms and combine folk art with fine art history to story tellings about our own time.

In her art projects, she involves people to share their often hard life experiences. This turns her art pieces into physical places, were many people meet and express life through art. Her projects have been developed around the world together with people from many different cultures.
